In March 2020 What is Wrong With Groovin’? was nominated for Best Radio Drama Programme. I am creative director of this audio documentary.
It is a distinct speciality show that owes its name from a sublime 1966 record that marked The Emancipation of Hugh Masekela. The show is fashioned as an audio-documentary. It is packed with meticulous research from the glorious archives of African and diasporic literature. Poetry, drama, and music punctuate the show to cover ancient and contemporary tales about revered figures, ancient cities, new knowledge, and insights about geo-political issues. It is narrated by poet and award winning author Lebohang Masango, with music curated by DJ Kenzhero and Tha_Muzik.
